New iPhone 6 Air Concept Packs High-end Features In Slim Body
The new iPhone 6 Air concept image squeezed in high-end specs and features in its incredibly thin body.
Folks from SET Solution deliver yet another iPhone 6 Air render showing a very slim body, which is a fifth of the thickness of the current iPhone. The handset weighs 70 grams. The device also boasts an edge-to-edge 5-inch Retina screen display. It packs the usual metal casing that measures 1.5 mm in thickness at the top and 3 mm at the base. Moreover, its measurements are 13 cm length and 6 cm width.
Based on the photos, the iPhone 6 Air retained the home button with TouchID fingerprint sensor. According to the creators of the concept image, the smartphone will pack a 10 megapixel camera with dual flash on its rear.
Some consumers noted although the new iPhone shows off cool design, the device seems extremely fragile. One of the common complaints on iPhone is the fragility of the device and its susceptibility to breaks and cracks.
However, this may not be the case in the future generations of the device as latest patent filed by Apple picked up by Patently Apple. The file showed a bendable screen using a powder Liquidmetal process. The patent also cited that it will be using Liquidmetal in its screen, which is the same material used in its casing to strengthen it.
Moreover, reports claimed the next iPhone will pack a Sapphire screen display, which will act as the protective covering of the iPhone's screen. Sapphire is seen stronger than Corning's Gorilla Glass used mostly in Apple's rivals.
Rumors said iPhone 6 will sport a larger screen display with a size between 4.8 inches and 6 inches. Consumers will most likely see some of the features of iPhone 5S such as 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip and the fingerprint sensor. The latest patents suggested the iPhone 6 will be equipped with flexible screen display and refocusable light camera but Apple has not confirmed any of these rumors.
iPhone 6 release date is set to happen in the first quarter of 2014, most likely in March. Some analysts think that iPhone 6 will be introduced in June or July. However, various reports predicted different possible launch dates with some saying the much-awaited release will happen later next year.
