At last, there is this dream robot that is born a car and soon grows up to become a moving humanoid. It's been made by Brave Robotics, Asratec Corp and original Transformer designers Tomy. They met and built up a tiny, small, functioning Transformer, in a project to create a working quarter-scale machine that can change from a car into a robot, according to metro.com.

Its Japanese creators insist that it isn't exactly a toy, and that bigger models are looming. A real-life Transformer was made, called the J-deite Quarter, which is just one-fourth the size of a finished product. The aim is to build a giant, transformable robot that is 5 metres long, as big as a car and of the same size walking and running, said a spokesman from Brave Robotics, according to metro.com. Before 2020, the developer, Kenji Ishida of Brave Robotics, is planning to put up a big-sized J-deite Transformer that can become a 16-foot-long car. He has explained his project on his website.

Meanwhile, the five-foot tall humanoid robot's 77-pound body is covered all over with blue car body panels and has a face that looks like "Optimus Prime" with the signature grimness and seriousness, according to mashable. The J-deite Quarter, which is one-fourth of its planned size, is in a car form, can drive easily, though the developers have not yet revealed if the finished, full-sized product will be able to accommodate a driver. The one-quarter-scale autobot can become a 3-foot-long sports car, though it is too small to accommodate a driver. The creators have no plan yet to open it into the commercial market.

The J-deite two-seater car can drive up to 6 miles per hour with about 1.5-inches of road clearance. As a humanoid, it walks at .6 mph and moves its hands and fingers. It runs on V-Sido, a proprietary software system developed by Asratec Corp and manages for an hour on a single charge. Interestingly, Transforming robots have become a robotics fashion. Ecole Polytechnique Federerale de Lausanne (EPFL), for example, showed some robots that can even transform into furniture!
