Leaked photos about the newest Lenovo Android smartphone have been circulating the Internet in recent days. Despite reports claiming that this is the new Lenovo Android smartphone, there are some contrary reports stating that it is Lenovo's latest tablet model.

The leaked pictures came from Engadget and show that the new Lenovo device is a 5-inch dual core tablet. This new Lenovo model is also reported to be running on Android OS. Aside from that, the photos depict a micro-USB port, HDMI output, front camera, and three capacitive buttons. These capacitive buttons imply that the supposed tablet would not be running on Android Honeycomb or Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich). Lenovo dubbed this new device as "IdeaTab," though in China it will be called LePad.

According to experts, this new Lenovo Android tablet would be facing competition from Dell Streak 5 and Acer Iconia Smart. The launch would also increase competition for Samsung with their newly launched Galaxy Note tablet. The reason this Lenovo Android is considered as a tablet and not a smartphone is its width, which is much wider compared to other smartphones like the iPhone 4s. Having this kind of width in a device would entail using both hands.

Lenovo has already entered the Indian tablet market through the launch of the company's ThinkPad, IdealPad K1 and IdeaPad A1. Lenovo has not released any official statement regarding the leak of their new Lenovo Android tablet.
