The new Nexus 7 tablet was a disappointing no-show at the recently held May 2013 Google I/O conference but recent reports claim that a component supplier has confirmed the July 2013 release date of the upcoming device. A Taiwanese-based company called Elan Microelectronics has reportedly started shipping the touch screen controller ICs for the new Nexus 7.

Anonymous sources divulged that the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet's panels are already in the "production phase" with the AU Optronics manufacturer. Previous reports suggest that the panel's form will include the Low Temperature PolySilicon (LTPS) with a 1920x1200p screen display resolution as good as the Apple Retina display quality on the existing iPad.

The upcoming tablet is expected to feature the Android 4.3 update instead of NVIDIA's Tegra 3 in accord to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC. It is the same 28nm chip allegedly incorporated in a Motorola XFON handset as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.

The chip has four Krait 300 CPU cores clocked up to 1.9 GHz, an Adreno 320 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) core, built-in dual-band Wireless AC, Bluetooth 4.0 and support for the 2048x1536 screens. Meanwhile, other reports are claiming that the new Nexus tablet will boast with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC.

It is the 28nm chip that packs either two or four Krait CPU cores clocked up to 1.7 GHz, an Adreno 320 GPU and support for 1080p video recording. Additional features include the dual-band Wireless N, Bluetooth 4.0, camera support of up to 20MP and the 3G/4G World/multimode LTE on top quality chips.

The other impressive features and specifications for the new Nexus 7 table include the 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera and the power of the 4000mAh battery.
