A new video emerged online which tests a game based on the iconic trench run from the "Star Wars" movie. The test was performed on the upcoming "Oculus Rift" head gear.

The user in the video was not explicit about the game being based on "Star Wars," but the game design, fighter pilot cockpit, R2-D2 and the game music gave it away. The objective of the game is to fight through a narrow trench, while gun turrets fire at the craft at regular intervals.

The user can be seen enjoying the role of Luke Skywalker from the "Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope," where he is seen in a similar craft fighting in a similar trench. The trench was in the "Death Star" battle station in space.

The game seems to have recreated the scene in vivid detail; the cockpit detail, right down to R2-D2 in the back, can be seen. The graphics of the trench also bear close resemblance to the one in the movie.

The firing mechanism is very intuitive, as pointed out by the user. It locks on to a target if the user turns his/her head towards the target. The laser is fired using a controller of either an Xbox or PlayStation. The user in the video is seen with a PlayStation controller, although the game seems to be designed for an Xbox controller.

The game is still in development, so the end of the game was not shown in the video. In the movie, a fighter pilot was expected to drop two bombs in a narrow opening, at the end of the trench, thus destroying the "Death Star."

Many of the games for the Oculus Rift are still in development, but the device has generated a lot of excitement in the gaming industry. The device is seen as a game changer and has been adopted by many game developers.

The 3D immersive game experience is said to be unparallelled, according to the fans. It provides a highly realistic 3D simulation, as fans are seen nearly falling off from their seats.
