Nintendo’s “Splatoon” is already a massive game featuring several ways to play, an arsenal of weapons to choose from and a ton of stages to play on. It seems the game will expand yet again with the addition of a new map, which is already available in some regions.

The new map added to “Splatoon” is named Piranha Pit. The new map was revealed a couple of days ago, but now, some regions already have access to it. Other regions are set to receive the map as it is scheduled to launch this Tuesday. The release frame of the Piranha Pit provided by Perfectly Nintendo is seen here below:

  • Europe: 3AM
  • UK: 2AM
  • North America (ET): 9PM (today)
  • North America (PT): 6PM (today)
  • Japan: 11AM

This is most likely the last content update for “Splatoon” this 2015. In fact, Nintendo said in a recent interview that it will end all content updates for “Splatoon” this coming January. This means that players should expect a few more content additions before the end of January.

What’s good is that Nintendo will not fully cut its ties with “Splatoon” after January as it will still launch Splatfests and Content Updates for the game, but no content will be further added to it anymore.

Nintendo generated a lot of revenue this year because of “Splatoon.” The game, along with “Mario Kart 8,” significantly boosted the sales of the Wii U. However, “Splatoon” will not end the year without a bang as it took Japanese retailers by storm this Christmas.

According to Wii U Daily, the “Splatoon” Wii U bundle was mainly responsible for boosting Japanese Wii U sales last week. In fact, the “Splatoon” Wii U bundle has completely sold out in Japan. The game has sold over 1 million units in Japan alone, and its numbers continue to impress even in other regions.
