More “Splatoon” content is coming for fans of the all-ages multiplayer shooter. This is good news to those who are still playing the game. Two new multiplayer maps, along with the latest update, are on the way, though an official release date for those maps is yet to be announced.

The two new maps are Piranha Pit and Ancho-V Games, which are both featured in the video below. Funnily enough, as pointed out by Destructoid, there is also a dance that the Inklings do while the content is being showcased. It’s doubtful that players will be able to do these dances during the game, but it does make the video unique.

It looks like these multiplayer maps will also be adding a number of features that will be new to online play. The raisable platforms from the game’s single-player mode will be in one of the maps, while the other one will be filled with ramps and surrounded by water.

Seems like “Splatoon” players are going to have to learn some new strategies with these maps, which can be considered a positive addition in the title. Games can start getting stale if they feel too familiar, so anything that spices up gameplay could be seen as a good thing.

Like previous updates for “Splatoon,” fans won’t have to worry about paying extra since these maps will be free for everyone. It’s not an approach that most game developers do, but it is one that gamers could appreciate in this age of preorders and timed exclusives.

While no official release date has been given for the new maps, the official “Splatoon” Tumblr has confirmed that the game is currently undergoing maintenance, hinting that the developers is working on bringing the update to the players right away.

“Splatoon” is one of the biggest games to come to the Wii U and has contributed to the sales of the struggling console. Considering how the fan base for the multiplayer shooter has grown, it will be interesting to see if the upcoming NX will have backwards compatibility or if there will be more “Splatoon” games coming in the future.
