The new "Pokemon X and Y" Poke Transporter app is a free app introduced by Nintendo and Game Freak to help transfer old Pokemon from previous games to the new games. It is an add-on to the Pokemon Bank app.

The Poke Transporter can be downloaded from the 3DS eShop. It works on several versions of old Pokemon games, such as "Pokemon White Version," "Pokemon Black Version," "Pokemon White Version 2" or "Pokemon Black Version 2."

The transfer app can be used by inserting a game card into the Nintendo 3DS. The transferred Pokemon will be stored online in "boxes." By using the Pokemon Bank, the old Pokemon can be moved to the new "Pokemon X and Y" games.

Unlike the Pokemon Bank app, the Poke Transporter is completely free of charge, but it cannot be used without the Pokemon Bank. Also, once the old Pokemons are stored in an online box, they cannot be returned to the old games anymore.

Now, fans of the game can enjoy playing their favorite Pokemon with which they have grown attached to, like the classic Pokemons Pikachu, Ampharos, Dedenne, Helioptile and Magnezone. Of course, Pokemons from the "Pokemon Black" and "Pokemon White" versions can also be moved, like Purrloin, Deerling, Blitzle, Mincinno, Meloetta and Black or White Kyurem.

Legendary Pokemons Regirock, Registeel, Regice and Regigigas can also be transferred to "Pokemon X and Y." Keep in mind though that only Pokemons can be moved to the new games and not the items that they are holding.

The Poke Transporter app should not be used with software that is created illegally, and is not authorized by Nintendo, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company. The software can reportedly recognize hacked Pokemon or those that use illegal apps to create their own Pokemon. It cannot be downloaded without the Pokemon Bank app.

The new "Pokemon X and Y" Poke Transporter app will be released on Dec 27, 2013. Until then, fans of the games are waiting with abated breath to finally use their old characters which they have painstakingly trained to very high levels. With this app, Pokemon players can finally "catch 'em all."
