Just a few hours after his proclamation on March 13, Roman vendors have seized the opportunity to permanently imprint the moment and come out with souvenirs that captured the rejoicing of the people at Vatican Square when Pope Francis revealed himself as the new spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic church.

Enterprising Roman vendors have come out with ideas to produce Pope Francis-imprinted postcards, rosaries and keychains.

Zoltan Brizar, a tourist who personally went to see the election and witness the first speech of the new Pope Francis, said he intended to buy souvenir items to send to his parents.

"We liked his humility, his personality, really liked him. We came to purchase some photos of him, we are planning to send the pictures to our parents, in Europe," he told WTVR.com.

Among the initial items that bore the new pope's face, it is the rosaries that are selling well, at between .20 euros to 3.00 euros depending on the picture size, Simone Ottaviani, a souvenir shop staff, told CJAD 800 AM.

This early, and although still four days left before the formal installation on March 19, Pope Francis souvenirs already abound on eBay.
