New Samsung 10.5-inch Note to Go On Sale Ahead of Samsung Galaxy S5?
According to new information, Samsung plans to release a 10.5-inch tablet ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The reported 10.5-inch tablet will feature an AMOLED screen. The focus on new tablets is part of Samsung's bid to increase the company's tablet market share. Will it succeed?
Latest information about Samsung hints at new slate announcements during the CES 2014. According to a range of sources, the South Korean tech giant plans to launch four new slates just in the first quarter of 2014. One of these slates will go ahead of the pack and come out in Jan.
As mentioned, reports indicate the Samsung will be using the same display technology found on its Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The new slate will have an AMOLED variety. Generally, AMOLED display works better with mobile devices. Handsets have lower power consumption and higher refresh rates. They also provide better response times when provided as touch screens.
Experts wonder whether Samsung can pull off the same technology on their slate. The Korean tech giant may have to tweak the technology to fit larger screens. As sources say Samsung will push for the AMOLED slate, it appears the company has found a way to work around the mobile compatibility of the technology.
If Samsung announces the AMOLED display slate during the CES, then people can expect the product to hit stores around February. According to an insider from SamMobile, Samsung will also be releasing its Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. Other products to make an appearance include: the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 10.1. The 12.2-inch tablet has been spotted in the FCC confirming its existence. There are no additional details yet about the other 10.1-inch device.
Reported features for the 12.2-inch device include: Android 4.4 KitKat, 2560 x 1600p Full HD resolution screen, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor plus 3GB RAM.
Analysts expect the Korean tech giant to make a splash at both the CES and MWC during the first quarter of 2014. It seems the company is intent on opening big and setting the standards for its competitors. Its biggest rival, Apple, has also been reported to be gearing up for the iPhone 6 and iPad Pro.
