New Samsung Galaxy S3 Leaked Android 4.2.2 Firmware in Early Stages with New Lock Screen, Revamped UI and Galaxy S4 Features
Samsung has been rumoured to be delaying the official Android 4.2.2 firmware update for Galaxy S3 due to Galaxy S4 sales, but a source leaked out a brand-new firmware for the S3, featuring the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and some Galaxy S exclusive features.
SamMobile got their hands on an early build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S3 with the software version I9300XXUFME7. The build was made on May 21, 2013, and is still under early stages, but the source didn't report any major bugs found on the leaked firmware.
SamMobile warned owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 not to flash it if inexperienced or desire to use for everyday function since the firmware is in testing stage. The leaked firmware contains the following details and features:
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with build number JDQ39
- Software number: I9300XXUFME7
- Samsung Galaxy S4 new lock screen
- Multiple widgets on the lock screen
- Two unlock effects for lock screen: Ripple and Light
- Improved lock screen Ripple Effect compared to Android 4.1.2 JB
- Changeable clock size with personal message on the lock screen
- New Screen modes from S4: Adapt Display and Professional Photo
- Daydream feature from Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS
- Driving mode
- New additions on the Notification Centre
- Revamped of the Settings UI: Tabbed Interface found in S4
- Voice Commands additional features: Ability to control various functions like S4
- White background in Gallery modes
- Full screen Samsung applications
- Updated S-Voice from S4
- New Smart Switch widget
According to SamMobile, the final version of may be released by July or August 2013, but Samsung hasn't finalised any statements yet regarding the Android 4.2.2 official update. Owners of the Galaxy S3 must watch closely as the company awaits the Android 4.3 and Android 5.0 launch from Google and possibly be the date Samsung is waiting for to push out their upgrade for the device.
