The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have predominantly been praised by both reviewers and critics alike. However, now, the rugged/sturdy version of the S6 dubbed the “Samsung Galaxy S6 Active” is reportedly gearing up for its release.

According to the Netherlands tech site Mobifo, a Samsung smartphone with model number SM-G890A has been spotted at the import/export tracker Zauba, pertaining to India. Zauba says the origination of the device is South Korea and the destination is Delhi, India. Apparently, the same model number SM-G890A was spotted in the AT&T site as well and this is believed to be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Active smartphone. It is worth noting that, the predecessor Galaxy S5 Active is reportedly tied to the model number SM-G870A, specific to the AT&T variant. Therefore, Phone Arena opines that, the new SM-G890A could be AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.

The Zauba database also says the Galaxy S6 Active is a single-SIM device. And importantly, like other devices, this handset has also landed in India for the purpose of testing and evaluation. As far as the key Samsung Galaxy S6 Active specifications go, the device will reportedly come with a humongous display of 5.5-inch. Plus, Mobifo says the device will flaunt 1,440 x 2,560 pixels Quad HD resolution. Under the hood, the handset is expected to be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor. Plus, the device will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM. When it comes to memory configuration, the Galaxy S6 Active is believed to come equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity.

With respect to camera specification, there will reportedly be a 16 MP rear-facing unit, notes Mobifo. Speaking of Samsung Galaxy S6 Active price, the Zauba database says the “testing unit” costs 19,028 rupees in India, which roughly translates to $303. In any case, readers should note that, the final price of the Galaxy S6 Active could be very different from that of the price pertaining to the testing unit. On the other hand, Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S6 Active specifications, price or features thus far.
