New Xbox One Experience gets more fixes, Microsoft reveals redesigned Game Hub and new Community section
Just shortly after New Xbox One Experience preview program members got an update, Microsoft has released another fix. This brings the update closer to a more ideal launch come Nov. 12.
There are quite a number of major fixes with the latest patch, specifically for issues involving TV stuttering, different apps, app tiles, dashboard and other controls. DualShockers spotted the list of fixes, which are now live for preview members.
My Games and Apps will no longer fail activation, while blank app tiles have already been fixed and should no longer occur for players. Xbox One users who make use of media apps will also be happy to know that crashing or poor performance for these apps have been fixed.
TV-related fixes include removal of stutter for 50Hz content, fix for crash of Blu-Ray, Preview Dashboard and Upload Studio and a solution to no audio for DIRECTV in OneGuide. Most importantly, games that fail to resume with a suspended session is now fixed for some titles on the Xbox One.
While there are still issues involving party and game chat and the YouTube app, the remaining days to launch of the New Xbox One Experience will surely see more resolutions of these issues. For now, members of the preview program can check out the Community Calendar app to give feedback to Microsoft. This can reportedly be downloaded via the Beta Games and Apps in the Preview Dashboard app.
Microsoft has been aggressively teasing the New Xbox One Experience to fans. Earlier in the week, the company teased two videos showing a tour of what to expect for the November major update. This time, the focus is on the Game Hub.
According to the Xbox Wire, the game hub has been redesigned to incorporate changes in Achievements and the introduction of the Community section. This way, the Game Hub will now become the go-to place for Xbox One users for all their gaming needs.
Game Hub will debut with a number of features in tow. For instance, following favourite games, new updates and game developer posts is now made easier with Game Hub’s Activity Feed. Xbox One players can also follow friends’ activities for easy invitation to multiplayer sessions.
As mentioned earlier, the Game Hub brings improvement to the Achievements, which will be viewable via the Game Hub. This include a number of information including progress, overall Gamerscore, leaderboards and other statistics. The Community section also puts its powers towards expanding the social aspect of the Xbox One.
