Following Sony's triumphant night over its competitor Microsoft given its many announcements and clarifications on certain features of the PS4, there are a few follow-up releases that you may have missed.

The $100 lower price, full support for used games, and lack of restricting policies for the PS4 are just the beginning, as Sony also aims to battle the Xbox One on the cloud.

While the plans for the Gaikai cloud service will still be felt in2014 starting in the US, it presents an opportunity for more than just cloud storage space. The Verge reports that the service will be available for both PS4 and PS3 users, granting them access to a library of PS3 games.

The feature will also allow for streaming, though details of how exactly this will be implemented has not yet been confirmed. There has been mention about streaming to the PS Vita, as the device is now being groomed to be a companion to the PS4 console.

For now, the Gaikai service is still pretty much guesswork, but Sony expects it to change after the launch next year, to be flexible to the demands of its consumers.

Be a PS Plus subscriber for online multiplayer

One big change from Sony's PS3, which will be felt with the PS4 is that gamers will now have to be a PS Plus member in order to get access to online multiplayer modes of games.

This means paying for $50 per year for the subscription. "PS4 gamers who aren't Plus members can still enjoy single-player games for free.... and access to media services won't require Plus," said Sony in a tweet.

However, this does not seem to put any damper on Sony fans or newly converted fans, as the subscription also includes access to discounted games, cloud saving, a gaming library, access to beta programs, automatic game updates, and immersive multiplayer online on the PS4, reports Ars Technica.

In another tweet, Sony has already confirmed that an Instant Game Collection awaits for those who become PS Plus members. "PS Plus Instant Game Collection confirmed for PS4! The first game: DriveClub! Available at PS4 launch. Free PS4 game each month."

And it does not stop there, as those who are already PS Plus members will no longer have to pay extra for what they're already enjoying with the PS3 or PS Vita. "Yes, your PlayStation Plus membership will carry right over to PS4. 3 consoles, one price. You're already set for PS4."

More hardware details and pricing

It's already established that the PS4 will sell at $399, a price that made a lot of people happy after hearing that opting for Sony's PS4 over Microsoft's Xbox One will easily save them $100.

Now, it seems that Sony is really gearing up towards making their customers whoop with joy, as they continue to explore pricing schemes and options for the PS4.

"We are interested to explore many different sections to [understand] what feels most comfortable in purchasing the PS4," said Shuhei Yoshida of Worldwide Studios to GameSpot. "But initially, we are pretty much focused on getting the right price. And we are very happy with the price."

This can mean that, if there are changes in the price, it might even be on a lower range, scaled depending on the region that the console will be releasing to. Or it can mean bundled packages, which won't sound too bad for gamers who would opt to get better deals with the next-gen console.

GameSpot also reports that retail pricing for some of the PS4's components have already been revealed. Aside from the 500GB hardware, the PlayStation Eye camera has been pegged as peripherals that are not included in the set and will sell for $60 apiece.

The DualShock 4 Wireless Controller is also set for a $59 price tag apiece, reports PlayerEssence.com.
