Prior to its reported release date via the 2014 CES, the chatter gets stronger that the Nexus 10 2 is actually the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 that Samsung is unveiling this week.

A few days before, reports came out that Google is finally letting out the second Nexus 10 and the company will present the stock Android tab to the world via the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January 2014.

However, apart from indications that Samsung has been tapped anew to handle the 2014 Nexus 10 project no further details were provided by reports coming from Asia. Android were left to fill out the void that surrounds the 10.1-inch tablet's global rollout.

The suggestion that Samsung is making the Nexus 10 2 makes sense as the company was responsible for the first edition. Then the Galaxy maker has signalled that a bunch of fresh tablets will be out by way of this year's CES showcase.

There were mentions of the compact Galaxy Tab Lite and the 12.9-inch Galaxy Note Pro. But what really pricked the interest of keen Android watchers is the Galaxy Tab Pro, which according to Samsung insiders will sport a 10.1-inch AMOLED screen.

Needless to say, the Tab Pro 10.1 screen dimension suits well with the Nexus 10 2 specifications that have been circulating in past few months. Given the two devices are one and the same, then the five killer features provided below are pretty confirmed for the iPad Air rival.

Retina-beating display panel

Google is reported to make the Nexus 10 2 as the strongest rival that could topple the iPad Air, which reviewers have praised for its incredible Retina-fortified screen. So to make a dent, Samsung's second on the Nexus 10 will reportedly boasts of a 2560 x 1600 screen resolution pixel that will dot its 10.1-inch screen.

This is based on the freshly-leaked AnTuTu benchmark results, according to Gotta Be Mobile, which stated too that a Mali-T628 GPU is part of the deal.

A muscle-car of a full-sized Nexus tab

Apple delivered 64-bit tablet computing in the iPad Air and in response, Google is relying on Samsung's Exynos 6 processing chip, which also adheres to the 64-bit mobile computing standard. When paired with 2GB of RAM, the 1.9GHz 8-core CPU will make the Nexus 10 2 one hell of a monster tablet - both in speed and might.

32GB of basic built-in storage space

In the same AnTuTu result published by GBM, the device that bears the model number SM-T520 is said to carry 32GB of space for digital files. If true, the feature will upgrade from last year's basic Nexus 10 model of 16GB internal drive.

Impressive camera combo

From the same document, the Nexus 10 2 camera also promises to satisfy the camera expectations of many tablet users. For the new build, the rear shooter will make use of an 8MP lens while the front-situated cam sensor is equipped with 2MP lens.

Android OS KitKat 4.4.2

In line with its Nexus signature, the Nexus 10 2 will reportedly see the light of the day by flexing the latest Android build, which in the full-sized Android tab's case is KitKat 4.4.2. This latest firmware packs the fixes for the bugs that were detected in the previous KitKat edition.

And true to be being a Nexus, the Samsung-built Nexus 10 2 will stand on native Android right from its release date, which ensures that all succeeding software support will be coming straight from Google.
