Following series of skip outs in the last three months of 2013, the Google Nexus 10 2 release date is becoming a reality, a new report said, with the full-sized Android making its way to the market next week via the 2014 CES in Las Vegas.

From Taiwan, DigiTimes reported that Google is finally outing the second Nexus 10 after months of speculation on when actually the stock Android slate is coming out. Not surprisingly, the same report added that the iPad Air rival is bearing the brand name Samsung, killing once and for all the suggestion that Asus and LG are replacing the Galaxy device maker in the latest Nexus 10 project.

The new development, according to Gotta Be Mobile, makes sense as Samsung is set to hold a news briefing on Jan 6 or one day before the 2014 Consumers Electronics Show in Vegas gets underway. In the same function, the Asian tech giant is expected to uncloak its new batch of smartphone and tablet offerings.

And since the rumoured Galaxy S5 is believed to be launched at a later date, something big must be part of the package that Samsung will unwrap. The best guess for now, as far as Android watchers are concerned, is the Nexus 10 in build number two.

Coming out of the box with the Nexus 10 2 are three major specs and features bump ups that are briefly detailed below:

10.5-inch screen with AMOLED display panel

Reports surfaced in the past few weeks that Samsung is rolling out a large-screen tablet by way of the 2014 CES that boasts of a 10.5-inch screen size with the company's signature display technology. The news is in line with Samsung's earlier pronouncement that AMOLED, a mainstay on high-end Galaxy smartphones, will come to Galaxy tablets in 2014.

With a 10.5-inch, the Nexus 10 2 is getting a slight boost if indeed the new Samsung slate will be part of the fresh bunch of Nexus devices.

64-bit processing chip

Also to be unveiled by Samsung next week is its new Exynos 6 chip architecture, BGR said in a report, that will showcase mobile computing instructions in 64-bit. The likelihood is, the new processor will be powering the Nexus 10 2 in order to make the tablet a worthy competitor to the iPad Air. Apple started selling the Air in late 2013 with 64-bit chip processing muscle.

The latest Android OS - KitKat 4.4.2

KitKat started inhabiting Android devices in Nov-Dec last year and the OS jump was without a glitch so Google quickly dispatched version 4.4.2 that carries crucial firmware fixes. The rollout is now underway and should be completed in the next few weeks.

But for the Nexus 10 2, it is almost certain that KitKat 4.4.2 will come right out of the box being the latest Nexus baby from Google.
