Nexus 10 2 release may not happen this year as Google is preparing for the imminent release of Google Glass in Jan.

Google still has not announced the details of the Nexus 10 2 release date and it may not happen anytime soon as the company has its hands full with the improvements made on Google Glass.

Last month, it was reported that Google is prepping up to increase production of Google Glass on the holiday season even though the company are not planning to sell Glass to the public until next year.

Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display. It was first speculated that the device will make its debut just right before Christmas.

Google Glass release date next year is further fuelled by Venture Glass founder Tim Moore announcement via his Google+ account that his team will work New York-based opticians Rochester Optical to create the prescription lenses for the wearable computer.

"We're happy to finally let you in on this exciting news. One of the first wearable technology items Rochester Optical will be producing are custom prescription, fashion, and sport lenses for Google Glass, available for purchase in early 2014," Moore posted in his account.

According to Mashable, Moore has stated that the upcoming Google Glass with prescription lenses will be available for purchase on Jan. 2014. "The arm mount will fit Google Glass perfectly, and it will be available in a number of colours that will match Glass colours," Moore told Mashable.

The lenses will bear the same price tag as the normal prescription lenses and will arrive in matching colours in accordance with the colour of their device. However, Moore stated that Google are not involved in the project in any way.

Meanwhile, Google provided no hint on the Nexus 10 2 release date causing disappointments to many waiting fans. According to the on-going rumours, Google Nexus 10 2 will pack an improved design and will receive a boost on its specs and features.

The tablet may pack a full HD display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution; quad core Snapdragon 800 chip processor; 2 GB of RAM; Adreno 330 GPU; internal storage of up to 32 GB and Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Google Nexus 10 2 is speculated to follow the pricing strategy of its predecessor with the 16 GB variant costs $399 and the 32 GB model costs $499.
