Nexus 10 owners can now accessorize and protect as well their tablets with Google's first officially released cover at price of $29.99. According to the Google Play Store, the Nexus 10 tablet cover is currently available in the Dark Grey and Scarlet Red colors with a shipping time around 3 to 5 business days.

The Nexus 10 cover protects the tablet rear while the front flap protects the 10-inch screen with ultra high display resolution. The cover works in the same way with Apple's Smart Cover and Microsoft's Touch Cover where the Nexus 10 tablet enters into sleep mode when the cover is placed on top of the screen display.

This cover feature helps in preserving the Nexus 10 battery life. Additionally, tablet users can still access video chat using the front-facing camera even with a closed cover as well as the rear-facing camera when the cover is folded onto the back side.

Inside the Nexus 10 tablet cover is a plain cardboard insert with an almost undetectable flat magnet near the top. The tablet's magnetic wake sensor is located right next to the front camera.

An opening is available over the front camera that will allow the Nexus 10 owners to capture images easily even if the tablet cover is flipped over at the back. The top portion of the tablet cover is extremely thin in measurement.

However, there is a hitch on the Nexus 10 cover. It does not have any extra function compared to the Apple and Microsoft tablet covers.

The Apple cover can be folded over and work as a stand for the tablet that provides a number of viewing angles for the user. On the other hand, Microsoft's cover includes a capacitive touch keyboard therefore the owners can touch-type on the cover that offers more valuable display space on the tablet.
