Nexus 5 Rumors: Google and LG’s Upcoming Smart Phone Features, Specifications and Price [PHOTOS]

Precise details have not yet been confirmed about the Nexus 5 but speculations are surrounding the upcoming smart phone as another successful Google and LG collaboration. LG is reportedly working on the Nexus 5 based on LG Optimus G Pro with the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie for the Google I/O launch in May.

The Nexus 5 smart phone is expected to have a 5-inch True HD IPS + LCD screen display with a 1080x1920p resolution and 441ppi pixel density. Other rumored features and specifications include the 2GB of RAM, NFC and LTE, Wi-Fi, microUSB support, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, 13MP camera with LED flash, HD video, auto-focus and the StreetView PhotoSphere mode.

For the Nexus 5 processor, the manufacturers will have to consider from the big chip makers announced at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) like the Exynos 5 Octa, Tegra 4 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and 600.

However, the Exynos 5 Octa may not be used in the Nexus 5 smart phone since Samsung does not contract out its Exynos chips. The Tegra 4 and the Snapdragon 800 are not likely to be utilized as well.

Qualcomm has confirmed that the first handset to use the Snapdragon 800 processor would be released in the summer and not in May which is anticipated launch date of the Nexus 5 smart phone. The processors suggested to be incorporated on the Nexus 5 are the Snapdragon and the over-clocked Snapdragon S4 Pro.

Larger internal storage capacity are expected to be offered as well for the upcoming Nexus 5 with the available choices of 16GB or 32GB compared to the 8GB or 16GB storage capacity of the Nexus 4.

A low selling price worked for the Nexus 4 smart phone so there is a probability that the Nexus 5 will have a similar pricing plan. The LG Nexus 5 16GB version is rumored to be worth $300 while the 32GB version costs $350.

Meanwhile, the other partners of Google may feel a little uncomfortable with the possible inclusion of the Motorola X Phone to the line up of upcoming Nexus devices. Interest on the Motorola X Phone has risen with the reports on its specifications, new OS and concept designs. Some device enthusiasts are even weighing in that the Nexus 5 could be one or similar with the Motorola X Phone.
