Following the lead of Samsung and Apple, Google is launching with Lollipop an application that will help gadget users to live a healthy lifestyle. Google Fit will help users monitor their fitness program. Data hosted by the application can also be accessed from a PC, which highlights the tool's multiplatform designs, Google said.

Nexus and other Android devices running on Lollipop are assured of robust security protocols that boast of three privacy protection layers. In Android 5.0, Google said, users are first protected by the Smart Lock that also comes with actionable Notifications that allow limited interaction with the device minus the need to enter from the locked screen.
Data encryption, according to Google's official Android blog, is a default Lollipop feature that will activate during a device's initial boot up. The protection is local, which means tablets or smartphones with encrypted data cannot be accessed online.
And to further bolster the security shell of Android 5.0, Google will impose the use of Security Enhanced Linux or SELinux Enforcing mode once the mobile operating system is operational. Essentially, SELinux is a major step of security protocols that are in used on mobile and conventional computing devices.
