Nexus 6 Release Date is Nov 1 Following Android L, Nexus 8 Intro on October 16 – Report
The wait seems practically over for the Nexus 6 release date as a new report points to the likely release date of the pure Android smartphone, allegedly set on November 1 2014.
That the next Nexus phone rollout out will begin at the start of November this year is boldly claimed by Android Authority, which stated too that its fresh information was drawn from "two different sources familiar with Google's plans."
The Android-dedicated blog site added that Google will hold an event on October 16 at the latest and from which, the company will reveal its three products - a software and two devices with the Nexus 8, known by now as HTC Nexus 9, specifically mentioned.
It is assumed that the software in subject is the upcoming Android version that as far as Google is concerned is named Android L. In numerous reports, however, the mobile operating system is dubbed as Android 5.0 and like its predecessors will also take a sweet name once it becomes operational.
Labels that have been suggested so far are the following: Lollipop, Lion and Lemon Meringue Pie or LMP. The latter appears the most believable to date as it is supported by leaked images with accompanying build details.
Android L or whatever the final name for the software would be is set to be made public by the third Thursday of October but it will not be immediately available to Android device users, Android Authority said on its report.
Fans will have to wait for a couple more of weeks before they can experience the redesigned and rebuilt Android, which Google said is more powerful with full support of 64-bit mobile computing and visually engaging thanks to Material Design.
According to Android Authority's Google insiders, Android L will be officially issued on November 1.
On the same date, which is a Saturday, the first two devices that the mobile OS will power up will also be made available. The report identified the Nexus 9 as one of the kits geared for commercial debut.
Another device will come with the pack but the source of the report was not specific enough in nominating a name. The bet though would be of a Nexus smartphone that in the torrent of rumours is said to be the Moto X-inspired Nexus 6 or Nexus X.
Should this claim prove true, Android fans can indeed expect a grand Halloween 2014 release date that will mark the outing of the Nexus 6 and 8 plus the Android L or 5.0 that will soon be made accessible to Android device users.
