Google's Nexus 6 remains on the headlines as many believe the company will still pursue its release. According to recent information, Google plans on working with LG to create the handset. More importantly, Google's Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai hinted last February that the company plans to launch the Nexus 6 around the second half of the year. What can people expect?

According to a report by Android Geeks, Pichai confirmed the release of the handset around the last quarter of the year. The website also noted that they obtained information from a trusted insider that Google and LG's partnership remains for the production of the Nexus 6. The design will follow the LG G3 framework.

The report also said that Google may now be ready to go against Apple's Touch ID sensor. The Nexus 6 will reportedly feature a fingerprint scanner. There are no details yet if Google will make the switch to a 5.5-inch screen. Analysts believe that the internet giant and LG may go for a 5.2-inch instead. The display will have a Quad HD screen offering up to 1440 x 2560 resolution. The HTC One Max featured a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. However, it is not as reliable considering ergonomics.

This means people can expect a new sensor included in the Nexus 6 screen similar to the ones found in Samsung Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5s. Qualcomm also noted that they plan to release Snapdragon 805 processor by the second half of the year. Google has always been particular about the components of its devices therefore it might include the new Snapdragon if it comes out in time.

Google will be holding its I/O developer conference. Many expect Google to unveil the Android 4.5 or 5.0 at that time. According to a report by Android Police, the next Android operating system will feature a "Moonshine" interface. It will also feature many design elements and icons similar to Google's websites.

Google has yet to make an official announcement on both updates.
