Nexus 7 2 Coming Out Next Week with Android 4.3, 2 Cameras; Best Buy Reveals Release Date for July 30
Quite a number of leaked screenshots and images have pointed to the Nexus 7 2 once more, and this time, more information was found in two places at once for Google's much-anticipated next-gen tablet.
This time, it has appeared in a UK inventory and a popular retailer's circular.
It was first seen in the Carphone Warehouse inventory, wherein a leaked screenshot of revealed the two rumoured versions, the 16GB and the 32GB storage options for the device. According to Pocket-Lint, the device was listed to only be a wi-fi only model.
The Nexus 7 2 was also seen in the weekly circular at Best Buy. What's more, the circular has also revealed a possible availability and release date, as the device was listed to be made available come July 30.
Even though this clashes with what has been previously leaked by another retailer--Staples having listed the device to come out for July 31--Android Community reports that it is not an uncommon scenario for two retailers to have varying availability dates for a device.
In the accompanying screenshot of the circular, a price was listed for $299 for a 16GB model, which confirms previous rumours. This is what is written on the circular:
"Google Nexus 7. With 16GB storage and a 1920x1200 screen resolution, you'll have everything you need to access Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, and more."
There is also an "available Tuesday" tag as the report states that the weekly circular is usually disseminated on a Sunday, which would be on the 28th.
The two sightings have strengthened the belief of some that July 24 will be the date for the next Nexus 7 2's reveal.
Nexus 7 2 wallpaper shows off Android 4.3
To top off all the recent leaks for the Nexus 7 2, one of the reasons why a July release date is also becoming more prominent is the fact that a leak had suggested the inclusion of the Android 4.3 in the Nexus 7 2 release.
Ubergizmo reports that this wallpaper may be the proof linking the Nexus 7 2 to the July 24 event, wherein Google is expected to announce not only the new OS but also the next-gen tablet.
The change in wallpaper has been noticeable because previous leaks have had the 4.2 wallpaper, leading some to believe that the Nexus 7 2 would be released way before the OS becomes available in the market.
Some reports even state that the Nexus 7 2 will only have compatibility with the Android 4.3, but that it would be made possible via update and not as the existing OS for when the device releases.
More features revealed for Nexus 7 2
The previous leaks have pointed to either release dates or confirmed some previously rumoured features of the Nexus 7 2, but this next leak showcases some features that are new.
According to Android Geeks, based on a number of leaks that have flooded the Internet, two more features were linked to the new device, it is said that the Nexus 7 2 may have a dual cameras this time, a 1.2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera, as well as a wireless charging mechanism.
The July 24 momentum is already on high gear, seeing as how it will culminate this week--if indeed the rumours are to be true. Still, with this many leaks online, there's bound to be a very evident grain of truth in the rumours.
