Many have been on the lookout for any rumours of the Google Nexus 7 2 tablet, but no one would have expected that it will be revealed via online chat with an Asus representative.

It seems that, of the rumoured features of the next generation device, what customers may be sure of for the Nexus 7 2 would be its 7-inch high-definition display screen and the option of having a 4G internet connection.

Technically, these specs have not yet been confirmed via official statement from Google, but it is something worth exploring, as the features do match speculations and expectations, reports T3.

According to the report, an Asus representative had revealed the device's specs, with the entire conversation posted online by the customer, named Tim P, on his Google + account.

Revealed specs and a release date

Following the conversation between the Asus representative and Tim P, it was revealed that the device may arrive as early as July this year, as the representative stated that "before the end of Q2" pertains to before July ends.

Aside from the date, specs have also been revealed. The screenshot reveals more specs, though the Asus rep himself claimed that they were not yet out for the public, and had only given them to the customer because he seemed "eager" to know.

The specs included a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad Core, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front camera, the Android 4.3 OS, a 4000 mAh battery, NFC support, and LTE/WCDMA/GSM support.

Digital Trends reports that the specs have been improved by a long shot, starting with the display resolution, the addition of cameras, and the new processor.

Of course, there's no real way to verify this information--unless Asus comes out with a statement confirming or saying otherwise.

Possible contender for current Nexus tablet with Aakash 4?

Many have been awaiting for the next version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet, but reports are coming out that there may be a cheaper version of the current Nexus 7 in the form of Aakash 4.

According to DNAIndia.com, the successor to the Aakash 2 will have roughly the similar specs as the Google Nexus 7, with the Aakash 4 having 4GB of internal storage and 32GB of external storage, a dual-bootable OS of Ubuntu and Android Jelly Bean, a 7-inch screen, support for Wi-fi, 2G, 3G, and 4G Internet dongle, as well as external connectivity for a keyboard and a mouse.

All of these are available for just over $50. Of course, with specs that are reported to be similar to the Google Nexus 7, some may wonder if what had happened to the Nexus 7 would also happen with the Aakash 4.

Apple Insider reported on the recent problems that Nexus 7 owners are dealing with their tablets, as the supposed cheap memory of the device may be the root cause of lags and unresponsiveness of the tablet.

In reviews and other reports, the problems seem to be more pronounced with continued use, with the possibility of durability being the most questionable feature after the Google Nexus 7 had once been one of the sought after tablets in the market.

Hopefully the next version, the Google Nexus 7 2, will have resolved these issues. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be a welcoming market for the tablet--at least for its current users today.
