Ever thought of getting a smartphone for just $0.99? It's now possible, thanks to Amazon and the Nokia Lumia 928.

The Verizon-exclusive phone is now offered at this price-with a catch of signing up for a two-year contract with Verizon. Obviously, to get this phone, you already need to want to be a Verizon user, and this is a great advantage, as it also allows for those with a family plan, reports iTechPost.

What's more, there's an option for those with Verizon accounts (you just need to upgrade your current phone to the Nokia Lumia 928) and those who are looking to have a Verizon account.

Imagine Nokia's top-of-the-line smartphone that features the best smartphone camera to date-yours for less than a dollar.

Those who want to get the phone without a contract will have to pay $499. For the meantime, the offer still stands at Amazon, though there's no telling when it will expire.

Amber update expected in August for all Windows Phone 8 models

"The Amber update for Nokia Lumia range with WP8 arrive in August giving the same user experience as the #Lumia925."

Once you apply the Amber update in your phone this August, you will be entitled to unlocking the FM tuner, improving the Music HUB, improving the camera functions, having Symbian-like features, and having Datasense for the handsets.

According to Phone Arena, these services are already available for the Nokia Lumia 925, which is expected to be out come July 17 with T-Mobile. It also comes as a bundle with the GDR2 update.

This comes at the heels of the possible Nokia EOS reveal a week before the launch of the Lumia 925, but it's also possible that news and other information about the Amber update may be revealed at the press conference.

Trade-in your phone towards a new Nokia Lumia smartphone

If you're tired of using your current smartphone-be it an iPhone 5, a Samsung Galaxy S3, or even a Nokia Lumia 720-Nokia is currently offering a $300 off any of its Nokia Windows Phone 8 models if you trade in your current phone for the model.

IntoMobile reports that this is one of Nokia's most recent programs to promote their Nokia Windows 8 Phone series, which has recently released several models, including the Lumia 928 and the Lumia 925.

All you need to do is send the proof of purchase of your old phone, and what you get will be the designated value for your old phone, as a Visa prepaid card value toward the purchase of a Nokia Windows Phone 8.

Of course, this isn't to say that there won't be any trade-offs, as the report also states that your old phone may not be as much value as you thought it might be. Though the program's promise is to give you as much as $300 worth of trade-in value, some phones may not amount to that much.

A Samsung Galaxy S3 can only be worth around $210, while the iPhone 4S fetches up to $250. Another catch is that this offer is only available in the U.S., so if you're outside boundaries, better hope that Nokia also creates a similar program that targets your area.

But if you are planning to make the switch, now may be a great time-you may even find some good use for your old phone.
