NFL News: Adrian Peterson Not Sure If He Wants To Return To The Minnesota Vikings
After a strained relationship, it appears that Adrian Peterson feels uncomfortable if he returns to the Minnesota Vikings for the upcoming 2015 season in the National Football League, or NFL.
Just over a week ago, Mark Wilf, the Vikings’ team president and owner and Kevin Warren, the Vikings’ chief operating officer, said they would welcome back Peterson with “open arms”. In his latest interview with ESPN, it looks like Peterson doesn’t feel the same.
"There are people that have had my back, and supported me. Last year, with the things that took place, had a lot of fans that supported me through everything. For the fans, I would definitely love to come back, but then again, it's a business, when it comes down to business, you can't get caught up in the loyalty to fans or to a team or anything like that. You know how it is in the NFL. I learned a lot through this process,” Peterson said in the ESPN article. “I'm still uneasy, to be honest with you. I'm still uneasy about a lot of things that took place within the organization.”
Peterson added that he appreciates the fact that some guys in the Vikings organisation supported him although he said admitted that it’s hard to predict the future and if that future will be playing for the Vikings. Peterson played just one game in 2014 for the Vikings but made the Pro Bowl six times previously, in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Peterson led the league in total rushing yards in 2008 when he had 1,760 and in 2012 with 2,097 yards.
Peterson is accused of being involved in domestic abuse charges of his children, the primary cause for his suspension in the league. There are reports that the franchise want Peterson to take a pay cut for the 2015 season. Peterson is set to be paid $12.75 million with $15.4 million counting against Minnesota’s salary cap in 2015.
