NFL News: Vince Wilfork To Houston Texans For 2 Years, $9M
After his release from the New England Patriots, Vince Wilfork will go to the Houston Texans after signing a two year deal worth $9 million. The 33 year old defensive tackle who has played all of his 11 seasons with the Patriots in the National Football League, or NFL, is expected to bring leadership and toughness to Houston.
Wilfork took time to thank Patriots fans and New England teammates and members of the team on Twitter on Monday and described moving from the Patriots to the Texans as an “interesting process” for him and his family.

Wilfork also admitted that he is excited playing for the Texans and the coaching staff in Houston.Since being declined the option to stay with the Patriots, the Texans were considered one of the top destinations for the 33 year old Wilfork, who was the 21st overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by New England.
Wilfork will be bringing a winner’s mentality to Houston after notching Super Bowl titles XXXIX and XLIX in his stint with the Patriots. Wilfork has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl team five times in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
