Nina Dobrev may be sleeping for the rest of Bonnie’s life in popular TV series “The Vampire Diaries” but there’s no stopping Dobrev’s acting career. Dobrev is set to star, together with TV series actresses Maisie Williams and Asa Butterfield, in the upcoming movie “Arrivals.” Directed by Peter Hutchings, the film was adapted from the 2013 Academy Nicholl semifinalist script by Fergal Rock.

The former “The Vampire Diaries” actress will be playing the role of Izzy, an American flight attendant and Butterfield’s love interest in the film. The “Spiderman” actor Butterfield will play Calvin, a hypochondriac college drop-out who takes part in an adventure to complete his bucket list together with British teenager Skye played by “Game of Thrones” actress Williams, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The cast and crew will begin filming in South Africa this coming winter, Deadline reported. Prior to her “Arrivals” movie project, Dobrev starred in the horror comedy “The Final Girls,” which was featured in the latest Toronto Film Festival and the SpectreFest.

Meanwhile, last month, the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” actress, along with her former “The Vampire Diaries” co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, won the Teen Choice Award for “Choice TV: Liplock.” The two may have broken up off-screen back in 2013, however, both stars continued to act as lovers in “The Vampire Diaries” series for quite some time. Dobrev and Somerhalder was up against fellow stars Candice Accola-King and Paul Wesley for the same category.

As much as fans would have loved to see the former couple accept the award together, Dobrev was the one who went on stage to receive the award. Dobrev also won the Choice TV Actress award for the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category for her role as Elena Gilbert in the hit CW series, “The Vampire Diaries.”
