"The Vampire Diaries" cast members had a blast celebrating actor Paul Wesley's birthday Tuesday night as co-star and good friend Nina Dobrev shared on the social networking site Twitter about the fun-filled party with attached images. However, Ian Somerhalder was nowhere to be seen in the images of the celebration.

Julie Plec, the TV series' executive producer, posted as well on Twitter the image of "The Vampire Diaries" cast in the birthday party celebration. "Happy birthday @paulwesley from your TVD Family!!!," Julie wrote on her Twitter account @julieplec.

The shared image shows the happy faces of Nina Dobrev, birthday celebrant Paul Wesley, Candice Accola, Claire Holt, Zach Roerig and Phoebe Tonkin. It appears Ian Somerhalder was missing all of the fun and action during the night celebration.

The 34-year-old heart-throb may not be around, but he managed to give a shout out greeting for the celebrant, Paul Wesley, on his Twitter account. "Happy Birthday to my brother @paulwesley see you in a bit buddy for a drink and a smile," Ian posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder.

The entire cast and crew were currently working hard for the upcoming fifth season of "The Vampire Diaries." The successful CW TV series was scheduled to air on October 10, while the upcoming spin off titled "The Originals" will start on October 15.

Ex-couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will continue to work with each other in a pleasant and professional environment despite the much publicized break-up. Current reports circulating revealed the pair's last cover photo shoot as a couple for the Metro Magazine August 2013 issue.

Days before the news that Ian and Nina ended their romantic relationship of 3 years, "The Vampire Diaries" star teamed up in New York City to shoot the ad campaign for Penshoppe, a famous clothing brand in the Philippines. The images from the photo shoot are now featured in the magazine's August 2013 issue with the title "Couple on Top."

During the photo shoot, Ian and Nina did not show any signs that their relationship was already on the rocks. Even though the two have split, the Metro Magazine report reads: "Their onscreen romance has crossed over to real life. And now Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are one of the most loved tandems in the world."
