The nominations for the 2014 People's Choice Awards were officially announced on Tuesday, November 5, and "Vampire Diaries" stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are up for the "Favorite On-Screen Chemistry" award as Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore. Ms Dobrev took to social networking site Twitter her excitement over the nominations and congratulated ex and co-star Ian Somerhalder.

"I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD NOMINATIONS!!! Thank you for voting and continuing to vote! So much love to you! #PCA #TVD," the 24-year-old actress excitedly posted on her Twitter account @ninadobrev. She further added: "This is SO COOL-Best SciFi Show,Best Chemistry+Best SciFi Actress. Beyond grateful for your support, love and passion after 5 years of #TVD!"

Afterwards, Nina Dobrev showed that she still supports ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder even though they have already ended their romantic relationship. The actress posted her congratulatory message on Twitter with a WhoSay image link and it reads: "And a congrats shout out to @iansomerhalder for his nomination in the Best SciFi Actor category!" she wrote. "Way to represent the male Vampires!Kill it! (Pun totally intended)."

"If all goes well, TVD could sweep the awards! Also, if Delena takes their award home, it could be their second win - they're neck-and-neck with Glee's Rachel and Finn for E!'s Best TV Couple of All Time Tournament, too!" the Wetpaint report reads.

The success of "The Vampire Diaries" has earned as well the CW TV series other nominations like "Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show" category, "Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor" award for Ian Somerhalder and "Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress" award for Nina Dobrev.

Ian, 34, will be facing a tough competition against the other nominees like Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles of "Supernatural," Stephen Amell of "Arrow" and Andrew Lincoln of "The Walking Dead." Nina, on the other hand, will be up against other nominees like Emilia Clarke, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kristin Kreuk and Tatiana Maslany.

The 2014 People's Choice Awards is scheduled to air on January 8, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. Fans can cast their votes at the official voting Web site PeoplesChoice.com as well as on Facebook or Twitter through December 5, 2013.
