Nintendo to restock rare amiibos in retailers soon
Nintendo’s amiibos are a hit among fans and collectors alike, so stock shortages are commonly seen in retailers. To give a chance to those who missed out on some amiibos, Nintendo has announced that it will restock retailers with some of the rarest characters.
The company made the announcement through its North American Twitter account. No date has been specified, but the company notes that it will come soon on select retailers. The announcement has only been made for North American stores, and there's no word yet on whether it will be done for UK, Europe and Japan as well.
The rare amiibos that will make a comeback include Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Fox, Greninja and Shulk. Out of the five amiibos, three were released as retailer exclusives. Shulk from “Xenoblade” was sold through GameStop and EB Games only, while Greninja and Lucario from “Pokemon” were exclusive to Toys R Us. It is not yet known whether or not the three amiibos will be re-released as retailer exclusives again.
More amiibos for "Animal Crossing" are coming to Japan as well, according to Siliconera. Four new amiibos were added to the game's collection, which brings the total number to 12. Kicks, Resetti, Celeste, Blathers, Isabelle, Tom Nook and K.K. Slider are just some of the characters.
The “Animal Crossing” figurines are released for the upcoming party game titled “Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival,” which is set to be released on Nov. 21 in Japan for the Wii U. There’s no specific date yet for the North American version, but Nintendo announced that it will be released before the year ends.
The “Animal Crossing” amiibos are not yet available in North America, and Nintendo has not yet confirmed whether or not they will hit shelves. However, since “Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival” will be coming to America, fans could reportedly expect the figurines to come as well.
