The next few months will be a haze of game developments and releases for the Wii U. After all, it has been six long years of waiting for the Wii's predecessor to try and bring back its fan base and players from the call of games in smart phones, tablets, and phablets.

Super Mario fans can enjoy the 3D version, which will be on sale from June 11 to 13 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, reports CBS News. A Mario Kart racing game is also expected during the summer.

Legend of Zelda fans will also rejoice because Nintendo will be releasing not just one, but two of its games, which, as CNet reports, may also have HD graphics. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will hit shelves during fall, while updates are yet to be announced on the second Zelda game.

Since it's also the 30th anniversary of NES, PC Mag reports that Nintendo will release an NES or Super NES game per month from January to July at only 30 cents.

Geek.com has also been reported that Nintendo has been in the drawing board for Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei, in collaboration with Altus and Intelligent Systems. It seems that crossovers in games will be a hit with Nintendo for its new releases.

Wii Fit U and Wii Party will also see updates this year, as Wii Fit U gains user-interactive communities while playing, and Wii Party will have a head-to-head competition function for the Wii GamePad, reports PC Mag.

Miiverse in your phones

The slow rise of the Nintendo brand does not stop with the Wii U console or its games. Tuaw reports that Miiverse will hit phones in the spring, allowing Nintendo users to share to fellow Wii U gamers through the use of smart phones.

Users can expect a browser-based experience for the meantime, but Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has been hinting at a mobile and app version to create a unique Miiverse experience.

The Virtual Console at eShop

Spring 2013 also holds promise for Nintendo as Virtual Console becomes a new feature in the Nintendo eShop for the Wii U.

Here, gamers can expect several NES games, Super NES games, and Game Boy Advance games, which, if you have already bought the Wii U version, you can update for only $1 (NES games) and or $1.50 (for Super NES games, reports Joystiq.
