‘No Man’s Sky’ 1.06 Patch aims to fix 90% issues, but PC player base has now dropped 90%
Hello Games has recently released three patches that aimed to fix more than half of the bugs plaguing the game to date.
This week, Hello Games has confirmed that the next patch, 1.06 will fix 90 percent of crash issues for the PS4. It is still in testing as of writing, but the developer has confirmed that it will be released this week.
According to the developer, the team has been keeping track of the crash reports that players have been sending on the PS4. When PS4 crashes occur, a crash dump is sent to the developer. The new information is then used to help categorise and fix the issues in order of priority.
“We obviously won’t stop until these issues are 100% resolved. Also these patches contain other fixes and improvements too. Thanks all,” said the developer over its official Twitter.
While the patch certainly shows how the developer is trying to fulfill all of the fans’ request to fix the game, it has not stopped the player base from losing interest in “No Man’s Sky.”
Over at NeoGAF, a couple of player have sighted SteamSpy’s numbers for the game’s player base on the PC. Based on the chart in the link above, the hourly concurrent players have seen a very steep downward trend from Aug. 13 to 15. From a record of roughly 137,000, it had experienced intense dips and upward lurches.
The lowest dip within a three-day period is below 40,000. And as recorded on Aug. 24, the downward dips and upward movements have become fairly smaller, playing between 10,000 to 50,000 concurrent players.
This is a fairly rough dip in numbers for a game that was anticipated for four years. Granted, a lot of the issues sighted for “No Man’s Sky” are on the PC version. However, whether or not the planned fixes will restore the numbers remain to be seen.
