Nokia 6 vs Apple iPhone 7: Nokia’s comeback phone against Apple's mid-range phone
The Nokia 6 is going to be released globally soon. It will also be paired with a great price tag. However, many are wondering how it compares to Apple’s mid-range phone, the iPhone 7. Check out the specs and features of both phones.
With the recent Mobile World Congress 2017, a lot of fans tuned into the Nokia releases. The revival of the Nokia brand came as a surprise to a lot of people. However, they released four phones that are low-range and mid-range. One of the mid-range phones introduced was the Nokia 6, which is said to compete with other leading smartphones. One smartphone that the Nokia 6 is said to compete with is the iPhone 7.
Specs
Nokia 6 and iPhone 7 differ in size. The iPhone 7 offers a 4.7-inch screen display, which offers 750x1334 pixel resolution, while the Nokia 6 offers a 5.5-inch display, which offers 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The former offers a pixel density of 326 ppi, while the latter offers 403 ppi. This difference can be seen on the details of photos and videos.
Although they both offer different processors, the iPhone 7’s CPU clocks at a faster rate of 2.2 GHz with the Apple A10 Fusion chip. This is compared to Nokia 6’s CPU, which is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 chipset, that only clocks at 1.2 GHz. However, the RAM is higher in the Nokia 6 at 3GB compared to iPhone 7’s 2GB RAM capacity.
Regarding storage, many already know the three storage options that Apple has: 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. Nokia 6 has only one storage option which is 32GB, but it can be expandable through the use of a microSD card.
Operating system
The Nokia 6 comes out-of-the-box with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat while the iPhone 7 comes with the iOS 10, which can be upgraded to iOS 10.2.1. Although there is a heated debate among the users of Android and iOS as to which is better, this is totally dependent on the user of the smartphone.
Connectivity
The Nokia 6 lacks in some aspect of connectivity, but iPhone 7 has limitations as well. Recently, Apple decided to remove the headphone jack from their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Nokia 6 still has its headphone jack available. Although this may not make much of a difference to some, but the Nokia 6 does not support NFC while the iPhone 7 does.
The Nokia 6 uses a Bluetooth 4.1 version while iPhone 7 uses the latest 4.2 version. They both have Wi-Fi capabilities and GPS. Both of these phones are also 3G/4G/LTE capable. However, Nokia 6 offers a dual-SIM capability unlike iPhone 7.
Colours and battery
The Nokia 6 certainly offers a bigger battery than the iPhone 7. Nokia 6 has a 3,000mAh battery while the iPhone 7 only carries 1960mAh. Both their batteries are lithium-ion batteries that are not removable.
Beyond batteries, the Nokia 6 offers five colours while the iPhone 7 offers only four. The Nokia 6 offers Arte Black, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Silver and Copper. On the other hand, iPhone 7 offers Rose Gold, Gold, Silver and Jet Black.
Price
The price for the Nokia 6 is incomparable to the iPhone 7 as it costs $315. The 32GB version of the iPhone 7 can set buyers back by $1,079.
Overall, it seems that the Nokia 6 is almost at par with Apple. In this case, Nokia 6 can win over Apple with its better pricing and some of the similarities it has with the iPhone 7. It seems that the Nokia 6 is looking to shake up the status quo, according to PhoneArena.
