"The Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone on the market with a 6-inch 1080p full-HD screen," Jeff Bradley, AT&T's senior vice president of devices, declared in the statement released on Friday, November 8. The AT&T Senior VP further added: "The large screen and extra real estate not only accommodate more Live Tiles, but also give you more room to view photos and videos on leading social networking apps or presentations on PowerPoint."

The Nokia Lumia 1520 is the Finnish company's first phablet device against rival companies and it is powered with the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU. Other features and specs include the 20MP rear-facing PureView camera with the Carl Zeiss optics and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).

The new Nokia device has an available internal storage capacity of 16GB that can be expanded up to 64GB through the microSD card slot. At the Nokia unveiling event in Abu Dhabi, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer assured that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will come with 32GB of internal storage capacity.

AT&T is rumoured to eventually offer the 32GB version of the Nokia device soon. However, the company has not confirmed yet the precise availability dates. Nokia, known for their colourful devices, will still offer the Nokia Lumia 1520 in four colour choices at AT&T and they include black, white, yellow and glossy red.

As for the available apps, the Nokia Lumia 1520 will have the Nokia Camera, a combination of the Smart and Pro Camera apps offered in the Nokia Lumia 1020 as well as the Nokia Storyteller app that puts together images and videos with the location-based information in order to create what Nokia describes as a "chronological journey of your story-no more files, folders and complex file names." Nokia has included as well four microphones in the Nokia Lumia 1520 to harmonize the video component.

Nokia's former CEO Stephen Elop excitedly shared at the Nokia Abu Dhabi event that the Windows Phone users will soon be able to share images or videos on social media site Instagram. "I am also excited to share that later this year you can post these same great images to Instagram. We and the team at Microsoft have been working very closely with the Instagram team to bring their application to the Windows Phone ecosystem. Instagram will be available on Windows Phone in the coming weeks," Mr Elop stated.

AT&T customers who purchase the Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone phablet between November 22 and January 9 will accept a $20 app voucher for the Windows Phone store.
