With the completion of Microsoft's takeover on the legendary Finnish mobile phone company Nokia, the computer software company announced that the first ever Nokia Lumia 2520 comes to the Australia market on Wednesday exclusive at Telstra. As the hype over this new gadget builds up, there are five details that one must know before grabbing a unit of their own.
Exorbitant Price
According to reports, what used to be Amazon's online store price of US$399 to US$549 (Verizon Wireless plans in the United States) turns out to be a staggering AU$840 price in Australia. While there are speculations that the exorbitant price may be due to the Australian tax, it is believed that the rest of the added amount is on behalf of Telstra which has the exclusive dealership on this gadget. This is also available on a 24-month Telstra Tablet plan at $60 per month, that is $35 goes to the data plan and the extra $25 is for the tablet repayment fee.
Great Specs
The 10-inch LCD full high definition Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet has Microsoft Windows RT 8.1 with a matching 6.7 megapixel for the rear camera and 1.2 megapixel for the front-facing camera with the first ever Zeiss lens. It also comes with a Near Field Communication (NFC) and 4G Connectivity. The camera has auto-focus full high-definition video capability which allows users to take as many selfies as desired with great outcome.
The gadget also comes with Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint so users can seamlessly finish their work. There is also a free download for Lync a corporate IM so users can send instant messages to their co-workers. The tablet also comes handy with a built-in Nokia Music so users can relax and listen to music.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet has a high-end processor given the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 2.2GHz. It also has 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD. Sales of the device commence on Wednesday, May 7 at Telstra online and on May 13 for the nationwide stores.
Telstra also offers a power keyboard accessory for $240 or $10 per month under the Accessory Payment Option. There are also Nokia Purity headsets by Monster and Bluetooth stereo headset that one can avail.
