The Nokia Lebanon Twitter message reads: "It's a smartphone, it's Dual Sim and it's golden... Can guess its name?" with an image of the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone sporting the dual-SIM capability. However, the said Twitter post was later taken out after enticing the device enthusiasts.
The Finnish smartphone manufacturer has not given any comment yet if they will indeed launch a dual-SIM version of the Nokia Lumia 625. Additional rumours even claim that the Nokia device will be named either Nokia Lumia 625D or Nokia Lumia 62x.
The dual-SIM facility will make the Nokia Lumia 625 as the first ever Windows Phone 8 handset with such capability as it runs on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor. When Qualcomm announced the new series, it highlighted the dual-SIM and Windows Phone 8 OS support which will allow Nokia to incorporate them in the Lumia 625.
Qualcomm's press release issued on June 19, 2013 reads: "The expanded line of processors delivers an optimal balance of multimedia features and modem technologies with extended battery life. The processors will have support for dual cameras, with an 8 Megapixel rear-facing camera and up to a 5 Megapixel front-facing one, as well as feature a single platform for all SIM variants, including Dual SIM, Dual Standby, and Dual SIM, Dual Active, and Tri SIM Tri Standby."
Addition of the dual-SIM facility to the impressive hardware of Nokia Lumia 625 is anticipated to increase the market sales of the Nokia device. Other selling points of the recently announced Windows Phone handset are the bigger screen size design compared to the other released Lumia devices, with some techies considering the Lumia 625 fit in the phablet category, and the affordable pricing scheme.
The Nokia Lumia 625 boasts of a 4.7-inch WVGA screen display with 800x480p resolution, curved 2.25D Gorilla Glass 2, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64GB through the microSD card slot. Nokia included a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery, 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, VGA quality for the front-facing camera and the new Smart Camera app all in the new style of polycarbonate plastic material used in manufacturing the Nokia Lumia 625.
