Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 635 (4G) has recently been released in many countries across the globe, whereas Motorola's Moto G is one of the highest selling smartphones for the company. The original version of Moto G was released in the last quarter of 2013. However, Motorola released a 4G version of Moto G in May 2014.

Display, Exterior and Size
Both the phones feature 4.5 inches IPS LCD display, the difference comes in the form of resolution and pixel density. The Moto G comes with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution and 326 ppi pixel density, whereas the Lumia 635 comes with relatively lesser 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution and 218 ppi pixel strength.
The Moto G boasts of sharp HD display that stretches from edge-to-edge to all corners of the handset. In addition, the Motorola handset has a plastic body. The Nokia Lumia 635, meanwhile, stands out for the bright and vivid colours that Nokia handsets are known for. Also, the back panel of the handset is made of plastic material that bends around to touch the front side of the phone, according to CNet.
For extra protection, Moto G (4G) comes with a water-resistant coating protecting the phone inside and outside. It is worth noting that, the protection is just a coating and hence there is no IP67 certification.
The thickness and the weight of Moto G are 0.46 inches and 143 g respectively, whereas the Lumia 635 is 0.36 inches thick and weighs 134 g. Interestingly, both Moto G and Lumia 635 are powered by quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. Nevertheless, the Moto G houses a good 1 GB of RAM when compared to the 512 MB of Lumia 635. Also, the Moto G runs on Android OS v4.4.2 (KitKat), which is upgradable to v4.4.3 (KitKat), while the Nokia Lumia 635 runs on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS.
The Moto G 4G variant comes with 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage with microSD slot for expansion up to 32 GB, whereas the Lumia 635 offers only 8 GB of internal storage but it supports microSD card for expansion up to 128 GB. It is worth noting that, Moto G 2013 model does not come with microSD slot.
Camera and Battery
Both the devices sport 5 MP rear-facing camera units. While the main camera of Moto G provides LED flash support, the Lumia 635 doesn't. In addition, the Moto G comes with a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, while the Lumia 635 does not feature a front-facing snapper at all. The Moto G houses a good non-removable Li-Ion 2070 mAh battery unit while the Lumia 635 houses a user-replaceable 1830 mAh battery unit.
Connectivity and SIM
Both the phones support 2G/3G/4G, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Wi-Fi hotspot. In addition, both the phones support micro-sim type, while several variants of Moto G supports dual-sim mode, the Nokia handset doesn't.
Colour
The Moto G comes with a black/white front panel but the back panel is customizable with seven different colour options, whereas the Lumia 635 comes in 5 bright shades black, white, yellow, orange and green.
Price and Release Date
Motorola Moto G (4G) 8 GB is priced at US$219.99 in Amazon. The company Motorola has announced that Moto G 4G smartphone will be available in Australia starting early July with a price of AU$299, says AndroidOS. According to CNet, the Nokia Lumia 635 will be available for AU$279 starting July 2014.
