Nokia Lumia 720: Dual-SIM Windows Phone Handset to Arrive Soon?
A new variant of the mid-range Nokia Lumia 720 Windows Phone 8 handset announced in February will reportedly arrive soon. Reliable source @evleaks shared on social networking site Twitter that the Finnish smartphone manufacturer could be developing the dual-SIM version of the Nokia device.
The Twitter post from @evleaks reads: "Dual-SIM Lumia 720 may be on the way." However, no confirmation was given as to when the new Nokia variant will arrive and where since most of the popular dual-SIM smartphones are only sold in selected markets.
The dual-SIM Nokia Lumia 720 is expected to still sport the familiar smartphone specifications. However, pricing scheme is predicted to be a little expensive.
It is not the first time for Nokia to be rumoured with an upcoming dual-SIM Windows Phone handset. A WMPoweruser report in May claimed that Jo Harlow, the Executive Vice President of Nokia in charge of Smart Devices, revealed about the company's plan to "push the boundaries of how low we can take Lumia" as well as recognizing the importance of the Dual-SIM feature and stated that "it was on the radar."
Another previous report suggested that the dual-SIM variant will be made available through the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone. Nokia Lebanon made the announcement on Twitter to excite the device enthusiasts, but the post was immediately removed and the Finnish company did not give any statement to confirm or deny the news.
The Nokia Lumia 720 single-SIM version currently sells at approximately €260 (US$346) with the 4.3- inch IPS ClearBlack WVGA screen display, Windows Phone 8 operating system upgradeable to the WP8 Amber update, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64GB through the available microSD card slot.
Additional features and specs include the power of a 2000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery, HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS with Glonass, a 6MP Carl Zeiss rear camera and the 1.3MP front-facing camera. Consumers can choose from the available colour choices for the Nokia Lumia 720 smartphone and they are black, white, red, yellow and cyan.
