Nokia Lumia 920 vs. HTC Droid DNA: Will the Rumored Phablet be More Popular?
Although HTC Droid DNA is not yet official, it is already making a big fuss in the smartphone market since HTC J Butterfly was released in Japan and when Verizon hinted that it will release the device.
Some of the rumored features of HTC Droid DNA are making rounds these past few weeks. HTC Droid DNA is reported to be a 5-inch phablet with a powerful quad core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 8 MP camera and Jelly Bean operating system in boot.
Many people claimed that the HTC Droid DNA is the international version of the HTC J Butterfly, a smartphone released exclusively in Japan. Verizon hinted that the device will be available in the US via their network.
Last September, Nokia also announced its flagship phone - Nokia Lumia 920. The smartphone runs on Windows Phone 8. It also boasts some amazing features such as PureMotion HD+ screen display, great camera and wireless battery.
Below is the comparison of the two devices based on some of their specs and features:
Screen Display - The HTC Droid DNA has a 5 inch Super LCD3 with 440ppi full HD display compared to Nokia Lumia 920's 4.5 PureMotion HD+ screen display with 1280x768 pixel resolution, which gives you sharp and vivid colors.
Processor - HTC Droid DNA comes with Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM. Nokia Lumia 920 has a dual core processor and 1GB of RAM.
Storage - HTC's rumored phablet has 16GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot for expandable storage. Nokia Lumia 920 comes with 32GB of internal storage.
Operating System - The HTC smartphone comes with Android's latest Jelly Bean OS. Nokia Lumia 920 comes with Windows Phone 8.
4G/LTE - Both are capable to connect to the fastest connection or 4G connection.
Camera - HTC Droid DNA comes with 8-megapixel camera. Nokia Lumia 920 also comes with 8.7MP camera but it is far greater because of the PureView technology that Nokia devised.
Battery - HTC Droid DNA will be powered 2020 mAh against Nokia Lumia 920's 2000mAh battery.
However, it is important to note HTC Droid DNA is supported by Android that offers Google Play Store, which has a wide array of apps. The Nokia Lumia 920, on the other hand, has Windows Phone 8 and this offers home screen tiles, which can be customized and provide updates in real time. The handset also has Nokia maps and Office.
Thus, the choice lies to the consumer whether they prefer a fast Android smartphone with expandable storage or a Windows Phone 8 smartphone with great screen display and camera.
Nokia Lumia 920 is expected to arrive in stores and networks later this month. HTC Droid DNA, on the other hand, has no concrete date yet as to when it will make its debut in the market. HTC and Verizon are tight-lipped on the details of the phablet.
