Mobile phone companies Nokia and Motorola were once sitting on top of the world and of the tech market with the inception of their devices.

Apple and Samsung took the world by storm with their high quality smartphones and left the two companies out in the cold. Now, Nokia and Motorola make a comeback with their 2012 flagship phones this September.

Can the two companies save their faces from the shameful defeat against Apple and Samsung?

Nokia Lumia 920

A lot of consumers are curious about the capabilities of the new Windows Phone 8, which is considered as an underdog in the smartphone battle.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the star of the Nokia Lumia launch with Some of the new tech specs include PureMotion HD+ 4.5 inch display (1280 x 768 resolution), Dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC chip, 2,000mAh battery, and Qi wireless charging. Nokia is touting the Lumia 920′s premier feature as its new camera lens.

According to Nokia the Lumia 920 features a floating camera lens that is designed to provide better image stabilization for both photos and video, it can record full HD video in 1080p.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is rumored to be available on October 21.

Motorola Droid Razr M

On the other hand, the star of the launching event is the Motorola Droid Razr M. The smartphone is equipped with 4.3 inch screen display. It is powered by Qualcomm 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage.

It has 3 megapixel front camera and on the back a back-facing 8MP camera with flash. Razr M has NFC, and a powerful 2000 mAh battery that Motorola says can last up to 20 hours on one charge and has 4G LTE connectivity.

Motorola said that almost all of its devices will be upgraded to the latest Android software - Jelly Bean. However, there are some smartphones that cannot be upgraded to Jelly Bean without decreasing the performance of the gadget. Thus, the company is giving $100 credit to users whose devices cannot be upgraded to Jelly Bean for the purchase of newer Motorola smartphones.

Motorola announced that the devices will be available on retail stores before the holidays. The Razr M will go on sale in the US next week and in Australia later this year in the fourth quarter on Telstra. By that time, Motorola handsets are probably equipped with Jelly Bean software.

Based from the aforementioned features, if you prefer an Android-powered smartphone that promises to render true Google experience, choose Motorola Razr M. However, if you are up to the challenge to know more about Windows Phone 8 and its capabilities as well as a bigger storage, go for Nokia Lumia 920.
