Nokia Lumia Accent 096 is a Tablet to Watch Out For
Every tech company seems to want a piece of the tablet pie. Just recently, it was revealed that Nokia is working on its own tablet. The once mobile handset giant is now venturing out to a possibly more lucrative venture: tablets and phablets. Recent reports suggest that Nokia will release a tablet version of its famous line of Lumia handsets.
Can Nokia succeed?
According to reports, Nokia will release their tablet line at the end of September. Likewise, several sources also say that Nokia will be releasing a Nokia Lumia Accent 096 tablet. The tablet will be around 8 inches though some say it can extend up to 9 inches.
The company is not just going for a new slate, Nokia wants a high end slate. If this pushes through, then the Nokia Lumia slate will be competing against devices like Google's Nexus 7, Apple's iPad Mini and Asus FonePad. Sony's Xperia Z Ultra and Samsung's Galaxy Note are also among potential competitors.
Specs include 4:3 aspect along with a 9-inch UXGA screen. Nokia is targeting a price tag of $600 to $700. Nokia Lumia tablet offers 1600 x 200 resolution support. It will run on an Intel Core i3 Haswell 1.7 GHz processor.
Under the hood, the slate will have 4GB RAM. People can choose between 64 or 128GB for their flash memory. The tablet will run on a Windows 8 Pro operating system also known as Windows 8.1 Pro. If a Windows 8 system will work best with the tablet, people will have to find out once it stores this end of month.
According to reports, Nokia will use a Wacom digitizer and Nokia Clear Black technology for this display. This should offer better resolution support for excellent viewing. Other specs include USB, a side magnetic connector, microSD and a 5MP rear camera. The device will also offer an optional charging shell.
Repots also indicated Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and WiFi for connectivity options. There are interchangeable back plates and a front facing camera. Can Nokia compete against the big guns? People will have to wait and check the product once Nokia makes the official announcement and release.
