A new Lumia variant is reportedly set for unveiling this May, along with the Lumia 928 and Lumia 925, and there is a likelihood that Nokia would test drive the rumoured Lumia EOS with Jelly Bean.

According to DigiTimes, "Nokia is to host a press conference in London on May 14 and is expected to unveil a new high-end Lumia phone."

The same report specified too that the platform of choice for the upcoming Lumia handset model remains the Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft.

But reading on the recent developments from the struggling Finnish phone maker, not every Nokia plan seems written on stone, analysts said.

This week, Nokia shareholders have apparently expressed concerns that the recovery strategy espoused by Nokia CEO Stephen Elop will not deliver the anticipated goods. Mr Elop plotted the Nokia pathway by forging a close tie-up with Microsoft.

His plan calls for the creation of Lumia handsets that run on WP8, which is a mobile platform that to date grapples to make a dent in the global mobile device market. The turf is currently dominated by Apple and Samsung.

Reports have indicated that Nokia investors are applying intense pressure on the company big boss for him to consider a switch to Android, which is the top mobile platform in the world in terms of handsets manufactured and activated each year.

Or at least, Mr Elop should mull on the possibility of separate Nokia Lumia lines that take advantage of the sheer number of consumers subscribed to the Android ecosystem, the reports said.

The Lumia has made a mark mostly on its camera attributes and deploying Lumia handsets based on Android makes great sense for Nokia, analysts said.

The Lumia EOS, for one, will surely attract more buyers should Nokia decides to embrace the Android ad release a version that runs on Jelly Bean or even Key Lime Pie.

An Android-powered Lumia EOS will easily take its place as the best smartphone in the Google system, besting even the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, which reportedly is set for a June release date, and the critically-acclaimed HTC One.
