Nvidia Tegra Note 7 Gets Android 4.3, Camera Improvements with Update
Were you one of the owners of the ultra-affordable BVIDIA Tegra Note 7's combination of a stylus and quad core Tegra 4 processor who bought it for $200? If so, you'll be happy to know that NVIDIA is supporting your device this holiday season by pushing a beefy software upgrade.
NVIDIA started rolling out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to the Tegra Note 7 device. The new software comes with several new features and a couple of improvements to enhance overall user experience. The Tegra Note stylus has become a lot more sensitive and got better support for left-handed owners. The addition of the DirectStylus option from the setting's menu, insert notifications and stylus removal are just some of the new features of the device.
Tegra Note 7 with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean now has a camera that supports an always-active high dynamic range option (AOHDR), which helps the user take quality photos from different lighting environments. The upgrade also comes with minor tweaks and video stabilization for an improved overall performance.
Users can now transfer data files and apps from the internal memory to an external memory micro SD card. If the user's Tegra Note 7 tablet is manufactured by ADVENT, EVGA, Shenzhen Homecare Technology, Gigabyte, XOLO or ZOTAC, then Android 4.3 Jelly Bean should hit this device any time now.
At first, the Tegra Note 7 did not receive great reviews, mainly because of its underwhelming software and screen. NVIDIA is still working on the sub-par screen for now but it certainly fixed the software issue. The company announced its plan of rolling out regular software updates to its devices, including the Note 7 to constantly enhance its capabilities.
Users are now interested in observing how NVIDIA handles the upgrades for the Tegra Note 7 and the company's Shield Android gaming device, which has traditionally been a chip-designer and graphics card maker. Devices such as these require a higher level of customer support and resources should be devoted to improving the whole product experience.
NVIDIA seems to be doing a decent job even if owners believe it should be pushing Android 4.4 KitKat to the Tegra Note 7.
