‘The OA’ season 2 to answer if Prairie has crossed the next dimension
The last episode of “The OA” season 1 has left fans wondering if Prairie (Brit Marling) has travelled to the next dimension. The lead character was stung by a bullet during the school shooting incident. All of a sudden, an ambulance comes in and viewers have heard a “whoosh” sound as Prairie, known as the OA, enters the vehicle.
“The OA” season 1 viewers would remember the “whoosh” sound as something that Dr Hunter Hap (Jason Isaacs) reckons as the hum of the spirit passing from the body during a near-death experience. It is believed that the psycho doctor is already at another dimension and it is likely that Prairie has travelled the same path.
Prairie insisted that she can also access a portal to another dimension. However, fans were left unsure if she really has travelled in a different dimension during “The OA” season 1 finale.
The OA believed that if she would be able to teach the movements to a new group of people, they would be able to help her open the portal to a new dimension. And she was able to achieve that. She gathered a new group, taught them the movements and the new batch did it during the school shooting incident.
“The OA” season 1 viewers know that Prairie’s intention was to open the portal because she thought that it is the only way to find Homer (Emory Cohen). Prairie and Homer met as captives in Hap's laboratory. Eventually, the two became close friends but fans are also looking into the possibility that Homer is the school shooter.
It is also possible that the lead character was killed since she actually got shot. Vulture cited the chances of Prairie being brought to a mental hospital or she could have been sent to a facility where she is being studied yet again by someone like Dr Hap.
Marling, who also happens to be one of the creators of the show, is mum about what happened to her character in “The OA” season 1 finale. It is likely that the answer will be given in “The OA” season 2.
“The OA” season 1 also starred Scott Wilson (Abel Johnson), Phyllis Smith (Elizabeth "Betty" Broderick-Allen), Alice Krige (Nancy Johnson) and Patrick Gibson (Steve Winchell) among others. “The OA” aired in Australia on Netflix. Air date for its second season is expected to be announced in the near future.
