The season finale of “The OA” may have hinted the return of a major character in the second instalment of the series. It is no other than the murderous scientist Dr Hunter Hap (Jason Isaacs). Those who have seen the final episode of “The OA” season 1 may have spotted Hap, as he may be the same person as the cafeteria worker who tackles the school shooter.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that the cafeteria worker looks like Hap. The sight has led to speculations that the villain may have travelled between dimensions so he can still watch over Prairie (Brit Marling).

But it is also possible that the cafeteria worker is not Hap. Another fan theory, as stated by Express, is that Hap is a figment of Prairie’s imagination. It is expected that “The OA” season 2 will give light to the issue concerning where Hap is.

During the “The OA” season 1 finale, Prairie has recalled her final night with Hap. She explained that she and another prisoner were forced to perform some movements in an attempt to cure a dying sheriff’s wife.

When the woman was cured, she revealed that just like Prairie, she is also a survivor of near-death experience. She gave Prairie the fifth and final movement.

As soon as he was able to take note of the movement, Hap has murdered the woman and her husband. As for Prairie, he dumped her by the side of a road.

Hap has warned Prairie that if she gets back, they will be gone in another dimension. He said all of them will be coming to a different world and Prairie will be left alone. However, it was not shown if Hap did manage to jump across worlds.

“The OA” season 1 was shown in Australia on Netflix. Air date for its second season is yet to be announced.
