President Obama took his own advice to men to "go big" on Valentine's Day when he treated his wife to pricey restaurant to celebrate the day. Obama made an announcement Tuesday morning to remind men viewers to spoil their partners on that special day.

The President and his First Lady had dinner at "Vermillion" restaurant where they served plates of beef, caviar, and chocolate truffle tarts. Obama was photographed as he arrives at the restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia around 7:30 p.m. although his wife Michelle was nowhere to be seen.

The two was believed to have devoured the restaurant's lavish Valentine's Day menu which included lobster tortellini, beef with truffle jus and passion fruit cheesecake. The menu for that night costs $75 per person, a four-course menu minus the charge for the obligatory Valentine's Day wine.

"Let me start with a quick public service announcement for all the gentlemen out there. Today is Valentine's Day," he said. "Do not forget! I speak from experience here. It is important that you remember this. And go big - that's my advice," President Obama warned.

Last year in an interview on "Live! With Regis and Kelly", Michelle described her husband to be "very romantic" and was very good in remembering special dates and occasions.

"He always has to plan Valentine's. It's his job. But it's hard for him to pull off a big surprise with all the motorcades," she shared this year with Access Hollywood.
