Oculus Rift preorders come with a copy of ‘Eve: Valkyrie’
A new partnership between Oculus and CCP Games will bring “Eve: Valkyrie” and Oculus Rift together. One of the most promising virtual reality experiences is coming in a bundle as all the pre-ordered Oculus Rift VR Headset will include a copy of popular game “Eve: Valkyrie.”
Developed by CCP Games, “Eve: Valkyrie” is an online multiplayer RPG. Facebook owned Oculus VR is planning to make this popular game the flagship title for their VR headset Oculus Rift. A Twitter post from Oculus revealed that the company will ship a copy of “Eve: Valkyrie” bundled with every pre-ordered headset after launch.
“EVE: Valkyrie” is a game specifically developed while keeping virtual reality in mind. Mashable reported that the game started as an impressive demo but has since then become a huge game with different levels to choose from. The multiplayer game offers the traditional matches, but it also includes team modes. According to CCP Games, "Recall" mode will make the players feel they are flying in virtual reality when they fight with robo enemies in missions.
This partnership puts some form of advantage for the Oculus Rift, considering the many rivals and competitors. Currently, the VR is creating a new wave of change in video game industry. Hardware such as the Oculus Rift, the PlayStation VR and the HTC Vive are significantly changing the ways people play video games.
Long ago during the early of the Oculus Rift VR headset, Oculus promised to bring a VR copy of “Doom 3 BFG Edition” bundled with the device. This should have reportedly brought the best experience in virtual reality gaming, according to a report by The Verge. Sadly, the deal didn’t work due to many reasons that include a fight between "Doom" franchise’s owners and Oculus.
Over two years later, though, it's found a replacement: CCP's space dogfighting game EVE: Valkyrie. Many details are yet to be revealed as there is no launch date announced for Oculus Rift. The final price and supported games line-up are still secrets.
