Oculus VR, which happens to be one of the biggest and most successful virtual reality companies in the industry today, has just confirmed that it's launch of the Rift is almost ready. According to the statement the company released on Thursday, the much awaited Rift headset will be out by early next year.

"Virtual reality is really unlike anything else," said Brendan Iribe, head of Oculus. "Rift is simply the best way to experience it. You will be able to get your Rift Q1 2016."

Oculus VR may have been recently purchased by Facebook a year ago, but the company had revealed some key details regarding its tie up with Microsoft. That said, a huge number of Xbox One games will be hugely tied to the VR headset.

In fact, as CNET has reported, the final product for Rift will actually readily come with a special controller that was designed exclusively for the Xbox One. To make the unit even more interesting, the bundle will reportedly be launched with a camera that will function by tracking the user's body as it shifts or changes positions.

Regardless of the player's position - be it standing, sitting down, or walking around the room - every movement will automatically be interpreted into the game, giving that more realistic virtual reality gaming experience.

Oculus is also reportedly working on a pair of hand controllers, called the Oculus Touch. They may resemble wireless joysticks, but they are so much more. They give the players a hand presence, which basically means they can see their hands in the VR world, according to The Guardian. They can also detect finger poses, such as giving the thumbs up sign, pointing away, and waving.

"VR allows us to experience anything anywhere," said Iribe. "It is that powerful."

These sentiments were also shared by Palmer Luckey, the company's founder. "This is not science fiction," he said as a parting message. "This is reality, and it is happening today."
