The new Google Nexus 7 has finally hit the shelves of retail stores. The refreshed Nexus 7 price starts at $229 for the 16GB model, and runs up to $269 for 32GB of storage. However, these prices are for the Wi-Fi-only variants, although Google is expected to release a 4G LTE-capable Nexus 7 later.

American consumers can purchase directly from Google at the Google Play store with one to two days waiting time due to shipping. The tablet is also available at major retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, Radio Shack, and Staples where the Nexus 7 refresh costs the same.

However, other countries will have to wait a while longer. Google started sign-up pages for countries such as United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Canada, and India where buyers can inquire the availability of the device in their country. In Canada, retailers are apparently selling the tablet, although they have limited supply.

Despite bearing a costly price tag than its predecessor, the new tablet garnered rave reviews claiming that the specs and features of the Nexus 7 tablet is worthy of the price tag.

The next generation of Nexus 7 comes with the 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and includes support on 4G/LTE connectivity, which was lacking from the original Nexus 7.

The new Nexus 7 boasts a 7-inch screen display with 1920x1200 pixel resolution; Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor paired with 2GB RAM; 5-megapixel rear shooter and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera; NFC; Bluetooth 4.0; and wireless charging.
